Wilson Di11 Iron Review

Wilson Di11 Iron Review

We are now well into the great British summer time and the winter on the horizon, it may be time to start thinking about changing your current golf equipment. With this thought starting to enter golfer’s minds, I have decided to review what I feel is a overlooked set of irons.

Wilson Staff was started back in 1914 and since have won 61 majors, more than any other golf manufacture.

LOOKS

The aesthetics are a strong point with the Di11 irons, they are finished in a high polish chrome which catch the eye, a nice wide sole and a nicely sized topline.

The sole of the Di11 is a bit on the large side, but the clubs are designed for the higher handicapper. From the address position though the sole is not visible and the club looks like a mid size iron due a very clever club head design. The topline is also big enough to instil confidence in a good strike, while not seeming too bulky to use from a range of lies.

Over all I feel the design offers modern, eye-catching styling on the shelf and a classic view at address. It is a concept that works well and looks more expensive than its affordable price tag.

TECH

When it comes to the technology with in the club they use some of the best on the market. The big sized cavities are coated with a lightweight elastomer coating helps reduce vibrations on of centre strikes for a better feel.

Wilson have designed the cavity to help with weight distribution, weight has been removed from the edge of the face and inside of the cavity. This will help promote a higher flight and greater stability.

PRICE

The price of irons is always a hot topic with golfers, some people are willing to plough hundreds if not thousands into their game and equipment where others aren’t willing or cant.

The Wilson Di11 are priced so that the majority of budgets will be able to stretch to them. With the most common set make up being 5-SW these days the Di11 will set you back only £289.00
